Jordan Burris and Socure’s Public Sector team are being honored in Category 4: Using Innovative Technologies to Deliver Simple, Seamless, and Secure Services for advancing modern identity verification and fraud prevention across government. Working with 145 federal, state, and local organizations, Jordan helps agencies protect public programs while ensuring legitimate individuals can securely access essential digital services.
Jordan has championed risk-based identity verification that combines fraud prevention with a more accessible customer experience. His work supports programs spanning healthcare, nutrition benefits, student aid, disaster assistance, housing, and other critical services. By helping agencies replace outdated verification approaches with modern identity technology, he has reduced false declines and manual reviews while accelerating decisions for people seeking government services.
In 2025, these efforts helped government programs prevent billions of dollars in attempted fraud, including nearly $1 billion in fraudulent student aid activity and more than $5 billion in disaster lending fraud. Programs also achieved identity verification accuracy rates above 90%, including among populations historically more difficult to verify. Socure verified more than 100 million people seeking federal and state services during the year. By treating digital identity as critical government infrastructure, Jordan is helping agencies protect taxpayer resources, expand equitable access, and create faster, safer, and more trustworthy digital experiences for the public.
