The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) implemented the Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity Shared Services Pilot Program (CI Pilot) to enhance the cybersecurity of critical infrastructure entities. The CI Pilot team created a new service delivery model centered on customer needs, fostering transparency and collaboration across various teams and stakeholders.
Key efforts included:
-
Collaboration and Planning: The CI Pilot team worked with CISA’s regional and headquarters partners, trade associations, and industry groups to design and execute a program that effectively addresses cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities.
-
Customer-Centric Approach: By gathering continuous feedback through research, customer engagements, and service evaluations, CISA tailored its services to meet the specific needs of critical infrastructure organizations.
-
Service Delivery and Impact: The team established a scalable service model that has proven successful in reducing cybersecurity risks nationwide. They focused on building a customer-first culture and integrated services across CISA’s regions and sectors.
Benefits to the Public:
-
Improved Resilience: The CI Pilot significantly enhanced the cybersecurity posture of critical infrastructure, which is vital for national security and everyday operations.
-
Informed Service Development: Engaging with over 50 organizations, conducting 25 listening sessions, and holding focus groups enabled CISA to refine its services and better address the cybersecurity challenges faced by critical infrastructure entities.
-
Enhanced Support: Insights gained from regional visits and customer feedback led to improvements in CISA's support, ensuring that services are better aligned with operational needs and risks.
Overall, the CI Pilot demonstrated that scaling cybersecurity services through a customer-focused approach can effectively bolster the nation’s critical infrastructure against cyber threats.
