OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY BROADCAST COMMUNICATIONS TEAM

HHS Broadcast Comms Team Pic.jpg

The HHS TV Studio Team provided incredible public health communications service from the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Team shifted into overdrive from the first press conference at the Department of Health and Human Services, through the spring, summer, fall, and winter of 2020, delivering much needed life-saving public health information promptly.

Through long hours -- early morning network interviews, late evening cable news programs, and weekend news shows -- the Studio Team met every goal and delivered information to every media outlet and social media platform. The public craved information from a trusted source during the pandemic. The HHS TV Studio delivered that information to the public on multiple platforms seamlessly and professionally. Topics ranged from how to wash your hands properly to how to stay active during a pandemic to keeping mentally healthy.

Additionally, the Team shifted to support live, in-person advisory committee meetings and other virtual meetings in just a matter of days. They created critical content for COVID-19 public health messages by producing a series of Five Things messages and another video series called Tell Me More. The Team stayed healthy and showed up to work each day. They are truly unsung heroes.
